Fairwork has finally setup a service to offer free advice that can be relied upon by the employer. If you are unsure about a provision under the Award here is the opportunity to get free advice. Fair Work have now released an initiative for small business employers to receive free, tailored written advice about pay and entitlements from their Employer Advisory Service (EAS).
“Our new Employer Advisory Service provides eligible small businesses with written advice on pay and entitlements under awards, agreements and the National Employment Standards.”
“About the EAS
Our EAS is a free service for small businesses, to talk to an adviser in more detail and get free tailored written advice. The EAS can give eligible small businesses written advice about:
- employees’ entitlements under the National Employment Standards
- award provisions
- other pay and employee entitlements.
The EAS gives small businesses confidence to understand and comply with their pay and entitlement obligations under awards and the Fair Work Act.
Information Guarantee
If you’ve sought and followed the advice provided by the EAS in good faith and that advice turns out to be incorrect, we won’t take any action against your business for relying on that advice. However, you must still rectify any entitlements that may be owed to your employees. Any employees affected (including third parties) may take their own action.”
