My passion for you and your business goes way beyond a love of numbers and my experience over 30 years. Every business has a unique set of challenges.

At KBAS Bookkeeping Karen and her team are partners with you to help you grow, improve, and make things easier by giving you peace of mind. Karen has run KBAS Bookkeeping, based in Caloundra, for seven years, helping hundreds of businesses on the Sunshine Coast. Every business is unique, requiring support at different levels of their business life. They rely on KBAS Bookkeeping to give them the information they need, whether it’s a new government grant for employment, public holiday information for preparing rosters, or software advice.

Karen believes passionately that KBAS Bookkeeping sit at the ‘boardroom table’ as part of our client’s first level of advisors. KBAS Bookkeeping recognises that decisions made with our knowledge make it easier for our clients to know how best to implement and succeed. Running a business herself, Karen has an acute understanding of the challenges and determination required to succeed and grow. Karen leads a solution-orientated team wanting to walk alongside clients to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

Karen holds a Diploma in Business (Accounting), a Cert IV in Bookkeeping and a Diploma in Management.

When not updating her business and bookkeeping knowledge, Karen enjoys the company of family and friends over a good glass of wine, digging in the garden and is an avid supporter of Sunshine Coast Lightning netball team.

Sarah loves working with clients across all fields with a particular passion for clients in the not-for-profit, medical, and legal fields. A Xero Certified Advisor, Sarah gets enormous satisfaction out of seeing clients reach their financial goals. Sarah joined KBAS Bookkeeping in 2020 and is currently studying for her Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping. She prides herself on being able to cut through the technical jargon to explain emerging trends and developments to clients with clarity and in a way clients can understand. Away from work Sarah enjoys going to local beaches on the Sunshine Coast.

Hazel worked as a public accountant in the Philippines for years before joining KBAS in 2022. Hazel has completed an Accounting degree and is Xero Advisor & Payroll Certified. Hazel is an innovative professional who always approaches challenges with optimism. Beyond numbers, Hazel’s passion is exploring new cuisines in the latest restaurants. She balances her indulgences with discipline by starting each day with a morning run. Specialising in harnessing software in the practice, Hazel is our Leap software expert for legal clients. Committed to helping clients to achieve their business goals, Hazel is always ready to make a meaningful contribution and look at ways to tailor our services for a client’s specific needs.

Since joining KBAS is 2022, Rissa has become our payroll expert. Rissa resides in Melbourne where she is currently studying a Masters in Management (Accounting and Finance) at the University of Melbourne. Rissa is also Xero Payroll & Advisor Certified. Rissa enjoys working with clients across diverse industries and has a special fondness for hospitality. Rissa’s superpower is maintaining order, relieving businesses from the burden of the daily finances so they can focus on their strengths. Rissa feels driven by the excitement of discovery and likes to explore new horizons through travel and spontaneous adventures.

Elisse is our payroll and superannuation specialist. She brings 13 years of diverse experience working with Australian businesses. Ellise has a degree in Accounting and is Xero Advisor & Payroll Certified with current training in Australian Payroll & Taxation. Beyond the office, Elisse likes to wind down with a captivating book, movie or Japanese anime. Elisse is also drawn to YouTube content offering insights into organizing hacks and frugal living, embracing the power of efficiency and mindful consumption. Elisse likes to maintain balance between her professional and personal pursuits, continuously seeking knowledge, inspiration, and opportunities to make a positive impact in all aspects of her life.

Jess is a seasoned administrator turned passionate bookkeeper with over two decades of diverse experience. Jess completed a Cert IV in Bookkeeping and Accounting in 2022 and hasn’t looked back. Her journey from administration to bookkeeping reflects her adaptability and eagerness to embrace new challenges head-on. Jess brings fresh perspectives to her work.

Her bubbly personality and team spirit make her an asset to the KBAS team, where she excels in fostering collaboration and driving collective success. Outside the office, Jess leads a fulfilling life as a dedicated mother of two. Balancing the joys of parenthood with professional commitments, she cherishes moments with loved ones while remaining actively engaged in her social circles.

Sally has completed a BA in Arts (Sociology), a BA in Commerce (Accounting), a Grad Dip in Arts Management, and a Cert IV in Bookkeeping and is Xero Advisor & Payroll Certified. Sally boasts over 20 years of experience in project management across the arts, education, and charity sectors.

Sally’s approach to bookkeeping is underpinned by the knowledge that accurate bookkeeping leads to successful financial management for all businesses. Her focus on processes and procedures aligns seamlessly with the organized and efficient ethos of the KBAS team.

An adventurous spirit, Sally has lived in six different states and territories in Australia as well as Germany. Her interest in Viking folk tales is serious. She shares her life with her dog she calls Ragnar, her boat, she called Shield Maiden, and her husband, she calls Sven. Her most unusual skill lies in her precision at reverse parallel parking in one seamless move—an accomplishment she may be fondly remembered for, perhaps even gracing her tombstone with the inscription “another-perfect-parallel-park.

As a Philippine based certified Public Accountant, Kaye has a solid foundation in accounting and bookkeeping. Kaye holds a degree in Accounting and an Australian Certificate IV in Bookkeeping & Accounting. Kaye’s experience includes general accounting work for international freight companies, investment and banking, trading and facilities management. With years of bookkeeping experience, she ensures the smooth operation of financial records with accuracy and efficiency. Kaye is adept at handling complex financial data, reconciling accounts, and implementing streamlined processes to add value to clients’ financials. She is committed to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to industry regulations, providing our clients with peace of mind and reliable financial insights. Outside of work, she is a devoted mother and wife.

Cassandra is our dedicated Administration Officer expertly handling all your enquiries, phone calls, and emails. With a rich background in Administration and Small Business, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every interaction.

Having made the move from North Queensland to Caloundra, Cassandra understands the importance of family and community. Her commitment to providing top-notch service is matched only by her passion for fostering meaningful relationships with clients.

Cassandra enjoys leisurely walks along the beach or cozying up indoors on rainy days with a captivating movie and her latest crochet project. Her love for life’s simple pleasures shines through in her work, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone she encounters.
