Traditionally February is a slow month for retail, but in reality, we can throw away all things about previous stats this year. People had more money as they had not been on holiday until the end of year break, going back to school was late and frankly, it wasn’t great getting out and about with the mask thing.

Now as we wind up the end of the month we have new things to consider that were not even on our radar. Let’s start with closer to home, what the ! with all this rain, I’m over it even if it has meant I haven’t had to water the garden.  ProBuild one of Australia’s largest building groups has gone into administration and the flow-on effects to suppliers and subcontractors of subcontractors will be massive if they can’t make it out the other side. They did try and sell last year to a Chinese owned group but it was blocked by our Government for security reasons. This morning I got up early to see what Putin was up to and that is not great either. Like most people, I just didn’t see the attack being so swift and quick not just to Eastern Ukraine but from all borders, really? enough all ready.

Back to our little world at KBAS. We celebrated Tayla being with us for 2 years, time flies when you are having fun. Our practise continues to grow and we thank our clients and their accountants who have referred business our way. We really appreciate that you love us enough to recommend us to others. I am taking some time off in early March and leaving you in the capable hands of Tayla and Sarah. I am not going far, infact not leaving home I have some family visiting from interstate to our wonderful Caloundra that was just voted the second-best place to visit in Australia behind Launceston by Wotif. There is so much happening in the growth of Caloundra with residential units planned for construction in 3 different complexes in the main CBD with retail and hospitality space on the ground floor and a number of other units in the CBD central and Kings Beach. Once completed there will be an influx of residents living centrally to our main street. It will certainly change the face of Caloundra over the coming years.

With that I am signing off for the month. Wishing you a successful trading period in March – and a word of warning keep an eye on your outstanding sales invoices!
